Red Ribbon Club

The Red Ribbon Club (RRC) at Bharath College of Education is a voluntary youth initiative supported by the Tamil Nadu State AIDS Control Society (TNSACS). The club aims to equip young teacher trainees with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to lead healthy lifestyles, promote awareness on HIV/AIDS, and act as peer educators in their communities.

Vision:

To build a generation of informed, responsible, and compassionate individuals who are committed to promoting health, dignity, and human rights.

Objectives:

  • To create awareness among youth about HIV/AIDS, STDs, and healthy behavior.
  • To encourage blood donation as a life-saving act of service.
  • To promote life skills education, including communication, decision-making, and stress management.
  • To sensitize students on gender equality, stigma reduction, and inclusive education.
  • To develop leadership among students through community outreach and peer-led initiatives.

Activities & Programs:

  • HIV/AIDS Awareness Campaigns: Seminars, street plays, rallies, and poster presentations.
  • Voluntary Blood Donation Drives in collaboration with local hospitals and Red Cross.
  • Life Skills Workshops: Sessions on mental health, nutrition, stress management, and peer education.
  • Observance of Key Days: World AIDS Day, International Youth Day, National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.
  • Community Outreach: Health education programs in local schools and villages in the Kavery Delta Region.

Membership & Participation:

Open to all students of B.Ed., M.Ed., and Ph.D. programs. By being a part of RRC, students not only gain valuable knowledge but also develop the empathy and leadership qualities needed in their role as future educators.
